I m gonna guess he doesn t want to spend the money to buy a new bag of white and had some open bags of grey in the back of the truck but my crystal ball has been wrong before.
We don t know what is causing this.
I just had some beautiful white calacatta marble mosaic installed in my bathroom and picked a light gray grout.
I don t really see how it will get any better.
We have just had our bathroom tiled with 300x600 white ceramic glazed tiles.
If it does turn white again and you seal it you are still going to have water penetrate the marble along all the edges through the grout.

The contractor swears that there is no way that the grout stained the stone and that the grout is just making the stone look darker.
The tile shop claims that tiles are not faulty and that they will turn back to white within.
I have never seen white marble turn that grey from water before though.
